💡 The Opportunity
We're seeking an exceptional Cloud/Solutions Architect who will serve as the chief architect and technical pillar of our engineering team. You'll own the end-to-end architecture of transforming our sophisticated forecasting software into a modern, cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform on AWS—complete with real-time collaboration features and SOC2 compliance.
This is a rare chance to:
• Own the architecture from strategy to execution for a business-critical SaaS transformation
• Design multi-tenant architecture with data isolation, real-time sync patterns, and conflict resolution
• Architect SOC2-compliant infrastructure with enterprise-grade security
• Integrate legacy C/C++ forecasting engine with modern cloud-native services
• Work hands-on while setting architectural standards and mentoring a growing team
• Collaborate async-first with a distributed US-based product team
🎯 What You'll Do
Architecture & Strategy
• Design and architect complete multi-tenant SaaS platform on AWS with tenant data isolation patterns
• Define technical vision for real-time collaboration features (WebSocket, presence, live sync, conflict resolution)
• Establish architectural patterns for PostgreSQL multi-tenancy and query optimization strategies
• Design integration architecture for legacy C/C++ forecasting engine with modern services
• Create SOC2-compliant architecture with security, audit logging, and compliance requirements
• Champion modern patterns: microservices, event-driven architectures, containerization
Hands-On Leadership
• Roll up your sleeves and architect solutions hands-on—this isn't just a whiteboard role
• Lead proof-of-concepts for real-time sync, multi-tenancy, and authentication patterns
• Guide development teams through complex technical challenges with mentorship and code reviews
• Validate architectural decisions through working code (Node.js/TypeScript or Python)
• Build CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
Platform Transformation
• Architect highly available, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, Cognito)
• Design PostgreSQL schema architecture for multi-tenant data isolation and performance
• Architect real-time collaboration infrastructure with WebSocket and conflict resolution patterns
• Design authentication/authorization architecture (JWT, OAuth2, RBAC patterns, AWS Cognito)
• Plan Docker/Kubernetes/ECS container orchestration strategy
• Ensure security, compliance (SOC2), and governance in every architectural decision
Collaboration & Innovation
• Partner with US-based product team async-first (with some overlap hours for real-time collaboration)
• Translate product requirements into scalable, multi-tenant architectural solutions
• Evangelize best practices for remote team collaboration and async-first development
• Contribute to invention incubator with innovative ideas and prototypes
Who You Are
Must-Have Experience
• 8+ years in software architecture and engineering with at least 5+ years focused on cloud architecture
• Deep multi-tenant SaaS architecture experience with tenant isolation, data partitioning strategies
• Proven track record architecting real-time collaboration systems (WebSocket, presence, conflict resolution)
• AWS expertise: EC2, RDS (PostgreSQL), S3, Lambda, Cognito, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation/Terraform
• SOC2/compliance-aware architecture with security best practices and audit requirements
• PostgreSQL expertise: schema design, query optimization, migrations, multi-tenant patterns
• Strong foundation in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, distributed systems
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS) and orchestration strategies
• Remote team collaboration experience with async-first development practices
Technical Skills That Excite Us
