Job Title: Oracle Fusion Consultant – R2R Functional Consultant
Experience: 8–12 Years
Location: Bengaluru / Hybrid
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Summary
The Senior Oracle Fusion R2R Functional Consultant will lead design, implementation, and stabilization of Record to Report processes in Oracle Fusion Financials. The role demands deep accounting expertise, strong functional configuration skills, and the ability to work closely with finance leadership to drive high quality financial solutions. This position is strictly functional with no development or technical build responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Leadership
• Act as the R2R functional lead for Oracle Fusion Financials engagements
• Own end to end Record to Report processes, including:
o General Ledger (GL)
o Intercompany Accounting
o Fixed Assets (FA)
o Period Close and Financial Reporting
• Lead solution design aligning business requirements with Oracle Fusion best practices
Oracle Fusion R2R Functional Expertise
• Configure and maintain:
o Ledgers, Legal Entities, Business Units
o Chart of Accounts (COA) structures and hierarchies
o Accounting calendars, currencies, and ledger options
• Define and support:
o Journal entries (manual, recurring, auto)
o Allocations, revaluations, and translations
o Intercompany transactions and eliminations
• Manage and optimize:
o Month end and year end close cycles
o Close monitoring, issue resolution, and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP / IFRS and internal control requirements
Business & Stakeholder Engagement
• Work directly with:
o Finance Controllers
o Accounting Managers
o Business Process Owners
• Lead:
o Requirement gathering workshops
o Fit Gap analysis
o Conference Room Pilots (CRP)
o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Translate finance business requirements into functional configuration decisions
• Provide functional guidance and mentoring to junior consultants
Documentation & Governance
• Prepare and review:
o Functional Design Documents (FDDs)
o Setup and configuration workbooks
o Business process flows and SOPs
• Ensure audit ready documentation for all R2R processes
• Support internal and external audits from a functional standpoint
Required Skills & Qualifications
Functional & Domain Skills
• Strong accounting background with deep R2R expertise
• Comprehensive knowledge of:
o General Ledger accounting
o Period close and reconciliation processes
o Multi ledger and multi currency environments
• Hands on functional experience in Oracle Fusion Financials R2R
• Experience in multiple end to end Fusion implementations and/or large transformation programs
Tools & Reporting (Functional Usage Only)
• Functional understanding of:
o OTBI
o BI Publisher (requirements definition and validation)
• Ability to validate financial and reconciliation reports with business users
(No report development or technical coding required)
Soft Skills
• Strong leadership and decision making capabilities
• Excellent communication with finance and senior stakeholders
• Ability to operate independently and lead complex discussions
• Experience working in global / multi country finance environments
Preferred / Nice to Have
• Oracle Fusion Financials certification
• Experience with global rollouts or large enterprise transformations
• Exposure to Financial Consolidation & Close (FCC) from a functional user perspective
• Prior experience as a Functional Lead / SME for R2R
