Job Description: AWS Solutions Architect
📌 Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect to design, build, and optimize scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, developers, and operations teams to translate requirements into robust cloud architectures.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
  • Design end-to-end AWS cloud architectures aligned to business and technical requirements
  • Define cloud standards, reference architectures, and best practices
  • Select appropriate AWS services for compute, storage, networking, security, and integration
  • Ensure architectures meet performance, scalability, availability, and security requirements
Cloud Migration & Modernization
  • Lead application and infrastructure migration to AWS (re-host, re-platform, re-factor)
  • Design hybrid and multi-account AWS environments
  • Support legacy modernization using microservices and cloud-native patterns
  • Plan and execute migration strategies with minimal downtime
Security & Governance
  • Design secure architectures using IAM, VPC, security groups, NACLs, KMS
  • Implement compliance, logging, monitoring, and audit controls
  • Enforce AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
  • Support data protection, encryption, and access management
DevOps & Automation
  • Define CI/CD pipelines using AWS and third-party tools
  • Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK
  • Enable automation for deployment, scaling, monitoring, and recovery
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams for operational excellence
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal teams
  • Participate in solution reviews, design discussions, and technical workshops
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers
  • Support pre-sales activities including solutioning and estimations (if required)
🛠️ Required Skills & Experience
Core AWS Skills
  • 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years on AWS
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:
    • EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda
    • S3, EBS, EFS
    • RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora
    • VPC, Route 53, CloudFront
    • IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking and security concepts
Technical Skills
  • Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with IaC tools (Terraform / CloudFormation / CDK)
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools
  • Understanding of cost optimization and FinOps principles
Good to Have
  • Experience with serverless architectures
  • Exposure to data, analytics, or AI/ML workloads on AWS
  • Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid environments
  • Pre-sales or customer-facing experience
🎓 Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional (preferred)
🤝 Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
