Job Posting Title: Sales Force eb2b Platform Lead
Location: Pune
Purpose of the Role
The eb2b Lead requires not only functional and technical expertise but also strong stakeholder and delivery management skills. The candidate will collaborate with Opus global and local IC leads, squad leads, and IT teams to align business needs with solution design and delivery. Key responsibilities include defining streamlined, harmonized processes and influencing business stakeholders for buy-in. These changes call for strong ability to innovate and conceptualize end-state processes and solutions in alignment with Squad leads. It will also require setting up teams to deliver capabilities with agility & at cost. With the ever-changing technologies & evolving business requirements, the role also warrants an external orientation to bring in an outside-in perspective & help deliver the best-in-class solutions.
Areas Of Focus
Platform Strategy and Vision
- Define the long-term vision and strategy for the Sales Force eB2B platform, aligning it with business goals.
- Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to guide the platform’s future direction.
- Collaborate with business and product teams to ensure that the platform aligns with overall business objectives.
Architecture and Design Oversight
- Oversee the platform's architectural design, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Make strategic decisions about technology stacks, tools, and frameworks.
- Establish best practices for architecture and development, ensuring these are followed across teams.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and guide platform engineering and development teams.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration, working with product managers, UX/UI designers, data scientists, and other stakeholders.
- Manage resources and ensure the team has the tools and skills to meet project demands.
Platform Development and Maintenance
- Oversee the end-to-end development process, from concept to deployment.
- Ensure platform stability by implementing proactive monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization practices.
- Ensure all information in terms of Change/Enhancement Requests request are clearly documented, processed, and executed in a timely manner.
- To ensure high quality in across all projects and BAU deliverables
- To actively analyse system usage and issue trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage upgrades, patches, and feature enhancements to keep the platform current and competitive.
Performance and Scalability Management
- Develop strategies for scaling the platform as user demand grows.
- Regularly assess and enhance the platform's performance and load-handling capabilities.
- Implement infrastructure management practices, such as cloud-based scaling, to support the platform's growth.
Security and Compliance
- Ensure the platform adheres to security protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with security teams to mitigate risks and protect against vulnerabilities.
- Establish data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) based on the platform’s industry.
Budgeting and Cost Management
- Oversee the platform’s financial planning, managing costs associated with development, hosting, and maintenance.
- Optimize expenses by choosing cost-effective solutions and tools.
- Regularly report on the financial health and return on investment (ROI) of the platform.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders like Product Owners & Business engagement, Country Teams, Vendor partners, Data foundation, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Technology Services and Information Security teams.
- Provide regular updates on platform performance, project status, and risk management to executives and other stakeholders.
- Communicate the platform’s value proposition to different parts of the organization.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Promote a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve the platform through automation, AI/ML integration, and emerging technologies.
- Conduct retrospectives and continuous improvement sessions to refine processes and address technical debt.
Vendor and Partner Management
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and third-party service providers.
- Evaluate and onboard tools and services that enhance the platform’s capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and ensure that partners align with the platform’s standards and objectives.
About You
The preferred candidate would have 10+ years of IT experience with at least 6 years in managerial role focused on enterprise applications and large-scale Sales Force eb2b, Retail & SFA build and deployment.
MBA preferred with 10+ years of experience, with a strong focus on Retailer Platforms, Sales Force Automation, or similar digital sales technologies.
The candidate will possess the confidence and stature to assume a leadership position in driving key thrusts of the department. A strong intellect and business acumen combined with good interpersonal skills would be required, as well as attention to detail and a high level of professionalism.
Key Skills:
5+ years’ experience with Salesforce eB2B commerce, including headless e-commerce, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong functional expertise in Route-to-Market (RTM) and B2B commerce.
Proven techno and functional expertise in designing, building, and deploying Salesforce B2B commerce solutions.
Excellent project management skills with experience in Agile delivery for large DevOps projects
Experience in business process analysis, design, and IT integration with third-party applications.
Good understanding of the IC business and cold chain operations
Exposure to innovative technologies and trends to being in outside in perspective.
Flexibility to travel up to 30% of the time to support project rollouts, vendor relations, and other initiatives as necessary.
Understanding of B2B commerce platforms & exposure to Eco system of B2B commerce
Ability to partner with cross functional stakeholders to deliver projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align technical solutions to business needs.
Excellent problem-solving skills to analyse business problems and design best solutions.
Analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to leverage data for actionable insights and decision-making.
Excellent inter-personal and communicative skills, willing to support the teams at a high level of excellence. Expert in Microsoft Office.
