Job Description

As an Azure Data Engineer, you will be essential in building and maintaining a unified data warehouse platform for our organization on the Azure cloud. Your role will encompass data modeling, data management, and pipeline creation, with a focus on data quality, performance, and scalability. You will work closely with the product team and other platform tech teams to develop a data platform aligned with the best practices and performance standards of our group.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, build, and optimize data models as part of the data warehouse development.

· Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines using Azure services, including Synapse and Data Factory.

· Utilize Synapse's elasticity to build scalable ETL solutions.

· Ensure the reliability, availability, and quality of data pipelines.

· Own and maintain physical data models for the serving layer.

· Collaborate with BI developers to support reporting and analytics as per standard requirements.

· Provide data discovery, KPI metrics support, and assist in BI and data analytics activities.

· Create and maintain project documentation, technical metadata, and data lineage.

· Understand data context, domain, and meaning to drive accurate insights.

· Manage deployment cycles for data warehouse databases and pipelines.

Professional Requirements

· 5+ years of experience in data integration, data warehousing, and ETL projects.

· Strong expertise in building data pipelines using Microsoft Azure tools like SQL DW/Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage.

· Proficient in writing complex SQL scripts and stored procedures.

· Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering data platforms for BI and Data Warehousing, including data ingestion, ETL, and integration.

· Skilled in analyzing large, complex datasets with excellent attention to detail.

· In-depth knowledge of data modeling and warehousing concepts (e.g., Kimball or 3NF).

· Familiarity with Agile methodology and experience working in Agile environments.

Personal Skills

· Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data platform challenges.

· Self-motivated with a passion for contributing to the data team's goals and vision.

· Strong technical and business acumen to perform due diligence on Data Analytics challenges.

Desirable Skills

· Knowledge of SFDC Sales Cloud data models and Google Analytics.

· Experience in building financial data marts (forecast, P&L).

· Background in developing data models for predictive analytics
